The Division of Pediatric Urology at the University of Utah is offering a one-year funded research internship in pediatric urology. This position is open for U.S. medical school graduates (graduation date of Spring 2017 or earlier) who are pursuing a career in Urology, seeking to bolster their research experience and publication history, and plan on entering the Urology Match in Fall 2016. Dr. Anthony Schaeffer, MD, MPH and colleagues are actively involved in pediatric urology research including but not limited to patient reported outcomes for pediatric urinary incontinence, randomized controlled trials in hypospadias, and optimization of care for infants born with hydronephrosis.
Responsibilities include writing IRB research protocols, patient recruitment and follow-up, database creation and analysis with biostatistician assistance, if necessary, and presentations at national meeting with subsequent peer-reviewed publications. The research intern is invited to attend any of the pediatric and adult urology educational conferences held each week.
